Knives

September 5th, 2013 No comments

I’ve never really had a huge desire to own knives. I’ve had several pocket knives in my life but none that have meant anything to me. In the past few years I’ve been given several knives as gifts. Now they’re not expensive knives but they are unique.

My favorite is one my father-in-law gave me. It is Case Sod Buster Jr. I’ve not carried it around so I can keep it in good condition.

I even purchased a nice Gerber Gator Machete.

Recently my wife and I received some Colt knives as gifts. She was given a Colt® Lady Colt® Lockback with a pink smooth bone handle. It is very nice and came in a simulated rayskin gift box.

I was given a Colt® Titanium Mini Trapper with black smooth bone handle. It came in a nice Collectables box.

I have no real desire to purchase more knives but I would like one in between a pocket knife and my machete. Maybe this United Cutlery Bushmaster Survival Knife.

DB380EX

March 26th, 2012 No comments

I recently purchased a DB380EX .380 Auto, Black Poly body with Nickel Boron slide. The gun had just been rebuilt by DB. I’ve shot it a few times while out with my bro-n-law Scotty. It was a little off on the target which I thought was odd. Then I noticed it had adjustable rear sights. Ah. problem solved yet I had run out of ammo and was unable to check it against the previous targets. Must do so. Overall I really like it. Takes a little getting used to a small gun. It has some similarity to a mini Glock I’ve read however I do not currently own a Glock and cannot compare them. Still looking forward to shooting it more.

UPDATE – Shot the .380 and love it. Slide is tough to pull but nice for a conceal carry. Very Happy!

Conceal Carry Choice

August 8th, 2011 No comments

Recently my wife had the opportunity to fire a .22 handgun. She liked it much better than the .38 I got her. My man that has provided me with all the guns I currently own has told me time and again to let her just get used to it. I have agreed until now. After reading a little I have decided to go ahead and purchase a .22 handgun for her. I like the .38 and will keep it for myself as my CZ75 is too much to carry. Here are a few of my reasons to get her the .22.

1. She won’t carry the .38. She is not comfortable with it.

2. A .22 is small, lightweight and reasonably priced.

3. The ammo is dirt cheap.

4. Many professional assassins use .22 pistols. Clearly, they know something.

5. A .22 has a noticeable difference in the recoil than the .38.

6. If it were lost or confiscated, I wouldn’t cry the same amount of tears as I would upon losing an expensive weapon.

7. A .22 will make it easy to get used to the feel of a concealed carry.
